How we handle data
We collect little, sell nothing and don't follow you around the internet. Here's what that means in practice, short and without legal fog, because a notice nobody reads protects nobody.
Who we are
Maybe Something Ventures runs maybesomething.vc. The fund's own legal entity is being set up. Until it exists, the controller, and the operator under Russia's Federal Law 152-FZ on personal data, is OOO Innov8 Global Advisory (ООО «Инновейт Глобал Эдвайзори»), Pyatnitskaya 37, Moscow 119017, Russia.
For anything - to see what we hold, correct it or have it deleted - write to info@maybesomething.vc. A person answers.
What we collect
What you send through the form
Three paragraphs about your work, your name and an email for the reply. If you like, the name of someone who can vouch for you. We record the time you ticked the consent box. That's everything we know about you.
If you vouch for someone else
Then you name a person who didn't send us anything themselves: their name and how to reach them. We use that only to write to them, and the first thing we tell them is who named them.
Visit statistics
None yet. The site carries no counters, no ad tags and no cookies. If we add statistics, this section changes, and so does the date at the top.
Why, and on what basis
To read what you sent, reply, and, if the conversation goes somewhere, meet. The basis is your consent, given by the tick before you send. One email withdraws it.
We don't sell data, don't pass it to advertisers, don't train anything on it and don't add you to any mailing list.
Who else touches it
The services the site cannot run without: hosting, the form service that delivers your submission to us, and email. Each processes data only on our instructions.
For now the site, and the form, are hosted outside Russia. We say so plainly because you're entitled to know. A move to Russian hosting is planned.
How long we keep it
Submissions
Two years from the last exchange, then deleted. Ask and we delete sooner.
A vouched-for person's details
Twelve months, unless they write to us themselves. If they do, it's an ordinary submission.
Your rights
You can ask to see what we hold, correct it, delete it, get a copy, or object to us holding it at all. One email is enough - no form, no explanation.
If you're unhappy with how we handled that, you can complain to Roskomnadzor, or to your own national authority. We'd rather hear it from you first.
Security, and the honest limit of it
The site is served over HTTPS. Submissions are seen only by the people who read and answer them. Nothing you send is published or indexed.
Email is not a safe. If what you want to show us needs real secrecy, write first without the details and we'll agree how to pass the rest.
Children
This is a site for people doing science and engineering. We don't knowingly collect anything from anyone under sixteen.
Changes
If anything here changes, the date at the top changes. There won't be big surprises.
